Tuition Fees 2012-2013
A foreign student who enrols in one of the programmes at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen has to pay tuition fees for each academic year that he/she is enrolled. The amount that you will be required to pay depends on your nationality and on which programme you have applied for.

NB: For students who are registered for a programme on 30 September 2012 and have a delay in their studies, an increase of the statutory tuition fee may apply. Click here to see if this measure applies to you.
* The Hanze Talent Scholarships NON-EU/EEA students
Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen has scholarships to grant talented students from non EU/EEA countries. Non-EU/EEA students may receive a scholarship of € 3,500 (or € 5,700 for the Bachelor of Music) yearly for the official length of the programme. This amounts to €14.000 over four years. The criteria for the Hanze Scholarship vary per study programme. Please check here for more information.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
Students from Surinam will be charged the same fees as students from EU/EEA countries.
Enrol in the second semester
With some programmes it is possible to enrol in the second semester of the academic year (starting in February). In that case you will be required to pay part of the tuition fees for the remainder of the academic year (1 February ¨C 31 August 2012).
UAF students
Students who have been officially recognized by the UAF (the Foundation for Refugee Students) are required to pay the same tuition fees as EU/EEA students.
Exchange students
Exchange students are not required to pay tuition fees.
Double Degree programmes
Exchange students who want to enroll for a Double Degree programme will not be required to pay tuition fees. Please note that there are no valid Double Degree programmes in 2012-2013.
All other students from partner institutions who want to obtain a degree at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, will be required to enroll as a fee-paying student.
Financial guarantee for NON-EU/EEA students
When Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen starts an immigration procedure for a prospective student, Hanze UAS needs to receive a financial guarantee on the university¡¯s bank account.
The financial guarantees for September 2012 intake are:
Bachelor programmes: € 13.000*
- exception for the Bachelor of Music: € 9.700**
Preparatory Course: € 7.900
Exchange programmes (5 months): € 4.500
Exchange programmes (10 months): € 9.000
Certificate programmes (5 months): € 6.000
Master programmes:
- MBA: € 16.000
- MBA in IB&M: € 16.000
- MIC: € 16.000
- Master in renewable energy: € 9.700
* Please note that this amount does not cover your living costs for the complete academic year. From this financial guarantee you will be able to pay your monthly expenses up until Christmas. From January onwards, you will need an additional amount of Euro 800 per month. You can transfer this to your own account in The Netherlands.
** Prince Claus Conservatoire offers a guaranteed Hanze Scholarship to all non-EU/EEA students. In combination with sponsoring possibilities, prize money and/or other grants, the amount of the financial guarantee is kept low.
The financial guarantee will be used to pay your initial costs, such as tuition fees, housing, insurance and immigration costs. The remainder of the financial guarantee will be returned upon arrival. For more information on our immigration procedure please click here.
